HP C1537A HELP The Device reported and error on a request to mount the media.
We have a HP C1537A SCSI Sequential device. Currently a normal backup is down on Monday nights. This job will take 3 tapes and about 13 hrs or so. The following days are incremental.

I've noticed that this only happens on the days i run a normal backups. tues - fri i have no problems. I have also noticed that on the days i run a normal backup the tape drive request a clean of the tape drive. Whenever the tape drive request a clean, those are the days i get the above error.
Any advice, comments are greatly taken.
Dave

Re: HP C1537A HELP The Device reported and error on a request to mount the media.
In this case an update/flash of the firmware on your drive is recommended to clear errors and set the drive back to default calibration. get LTT from: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?pnameOID=406731&locale=en_US&taskId=135&prodSeriesId=406729&prodTypeId=12169
Also uninstall and reinstall tape drive drivers this often causes this type of issue.

Thank you for the information. However, the link you submitted, directs me to a storageworks driver? Will this work with my SURESTORE? Just want to make sure before i DL the driver upgrade.
Thanks,
Dave

Dave:
To Download Library and Tape Tools, kindly click on the following link:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?pnameOID=406731&locale=en_US&taskId=135&prodSeriesId=406729&prodTypeId=12169
and choose the appropriate OS. Following this, download the Diagnostic called HP Storage Works Library and Tape Tools, Release 4.0.
If I can be of further assistance, do let me know.
Thanks
Satish
