Re: HP DAT 72 Hot-Plug Tape Drive Q1529A

Hi sdn,

HP provides information on system and tape drive compatibility on its website at www.hp.com/go/connect. The compatibility information for your system (DL385) and tape drive (DAT 72) is found here at:

http://www.hp.com/products1/storage/compatibility/tapebackup/ISS/Detail/16-0015-0063.html

This page shows that the minimum version of Solaris supported for this server and tape drive combination is version 8. It seems your problem is that your version of Solaris is too old.

You should not have the drive connected to a RAID controller. A separate SCSI controller is recommended

You can donnect a hot plug tape drive in a dl380 the recomented slot is ID 5 top left when looking from the front There should be no termination as the backplane does the termination
