HP Data Protector Express SSE Support for Windows Server 2008 R2?
When will HP Data Protector Express (Single Server Edition) support Windows Server 2008 R2 (64-bit) operating system?
When will HP DP Express 5.X be announced?
I installed HP Data Protector Express SSE 4.0 SP1 into Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard with no problems. The DPE SSE was bundled with a new HP Ultrium 920 tape drive in HP ProLiant ML 350 G6. "Identify Media" and "Format Media" jobs were also run successfully. But "Backup Local Machine" job into a tape drive fails quite immediately with an "Error 2. End of Data." I have used both HP LTO-3 and LTO-2 tapes, no affects.
HP Technical Support says "Currently DP Express does not support Windows 2008 R2 and this Operating System will be supported in next release of DP Express 5.X"
Is there any patch correcting this problem?
Thank you,

Re: HP Data Protector Express SSE Support for Windows Server 2008 R2?
there is currently no patch and I think that HP won't release such a patch for SSE 4.0. You have to wait for DP Express 5.0.
Best regards,
Patrick

Re: HP Data Protector Express SSE Support for Windows Server 2008 R2?
When installing Windows 2008 R2, Windows does not assign a drive letter to the reserved drive.
Resolution
From Windows Disk Manager, assign a drive letter to reserved drive.

How do you do that? I don't know where assign any drive letters in disk management...
Thanks.
