HP SIM and MSL6060 SNMP
After viewing some postings regarding how to monitor the MSL6060 for hardware failures, can you confirm the following:
1. HP Systems Insight Manager 5.0 can monitor the MSL6060 with firmware 5.16 or 5.13 in the event of hardware failures, e.g. power supply dies, via the library card's network port.
2. The standard downloaded package of HP SIM 5.0 already contains the MIB's for the MSL6060. There is nothing else to download or install.
3. Are there any issues with MSL6060 libary card's SNMP working with other SNMP trap receivers or managers e.g. HP OpenView NNM? I was told only HP SIM and SAM are supported for the MSL6060.
4. If HP SIM 5.0 works with SNMP of MSL6060, then does it mean that MSL6060 libary card's SNMP is not compatible with standard SNMP?
5. Is it true that MSL6060's SNMP trap destination alerting may not be working at all i.e. it may be disabled at the firmware level?
Sorry for the many questions but would really appreciate your help.
Regards,
Robert
