Labeling Tapes
Hi there,
It's not a problem I've got, it's more of a question.
We've got a tape library with 10 tapes.
When labeling tapes, is there a possibility to start labeling all 10 tapes, and the program works them of one by one.
Now when the program is labeling a tape, a second one can't be queued. An error occures that the device is in use.
Is there a way to label a tape and queue the other 9.
Thanks in advance,
Marc

Re: Labeling Tapes
What do you mean telling 'labeling'?
1. if you mean formatting tapes (preparing for usage) then if your library has only one drive it can format/label only one tape at a time. Tape queuing looks for me like a capability of backup application you use. Post question to management software section of this forum;
2. if you mean applying barcode labels then you should apply them (data labels to data tapes and cleaning labels to cleaning tapes) before inserting tapes into the library

Re: Labeling Tapes
You're right, i just noticed it's in the wrong section. I'm sorry, but thanks for the answer.
