MSl 6000 Data Protector
Hello
We are having problem in our Scheduled Backup , we get the following message During backup.
[Normal] From: BMA@gitsbkc01.arg.ae "HP:Ultrium 2-SCSI_1_gitsbkc01(A)" Time: 11/23/2005 4:44:50 PM
STARTING Media Agent "HP:Ultrium 2-SCSI_1_gitsbkc01(A)"

Since we are having two drives in our library, the backup job scheduled to the second drive doesnтАЩt continue automatically it stops with the above message.

Backup Software:- HP OpenView Storage Data Protector Product version :- A.05.50
Internal build version :- DPWIN_00113
Please Suggest how we can resolve the above

Robin,
It all depends on how the media allocation is setup in your backup jobs.
It is best practice to use a media pool for a certain group of jobs (eg weekly and daily backups). And if a free pool is used above that, the backups will become much more flexible.

The library was working fine with single drive.
Recently we added the second drive to the Library, after adding we mapped the drive in the NSR. in Data Protector we installed the drive through add device wizard. we tested the drive with test backup and it is working fine.
but when we schedule the existing backup with existing media pool (which are working fine with old drive), to the new drive we get the above message.
Please suggest weather we need to create a new media pool or any other configuration need to be done.
