Storageworks DAT-72 USB
I am suddenly getting Error 1004: Invalid object ID. I have stopped and restarted the service. Any ideas on how to solve this problem?

Re: Storageworks DAT-72 USB
I'm not sure what that error message is (not knowing which backup application you're running) -- but since this is a USB-attached tape drive, it's possible that Windows has somehow changed the device ID. Try rediscovering it, and making sure that your backup job is pointing to the DAT72 drive that Windows is currently seeing.

Re: Storageworks DAT-72 USB
Hi Jim,
The error message you are getting could be some kind of corruption in the DPX database. We can get it back by running a manual repair of the catalog database.
TO REPAIR THE DPX CATALOG MANUALLY:
1. Close DPX
2. Stop the DPX Service
3. Open the dpconfig.ini file in the DPX directory
(\config, by default) on the Master Server.
4. In the section, add the following line:
repairDatabase=Yes
5. This section should now look like this:
lastUser=admin
lastDomain=DPX Storage Domain
nodeGuid={00001001-421F132A-0003F771-FFE580D7}
databaseServerAddress=localhost
isDatabaseServer=Yes
databaseServerName=DPX Storage Domain
disableNetwork=No
remoteAdmin=No
repairDatabase=Yes
6. Save and close this file.
7. Open DPX - DO NOT RESTART THE SERVICE.
8. The catalog repair will run automatically.
9. After the repair has completed the Login screen will appear. Close this
window.
10. Restart the DPX Service:
11. Login to the DPX Administrator.
This should resolve the error condition you are getting

Raj
