Tape Stuck in DLT 818
I am having the same problem at one of our offsite locations. They are located in the Far East. Can you send instructions to my email address explaining how to get the tape unstuck. I will pass it on to my co-works in the Far East (Okinawa)

Re: Tape Stuck in DLT 818
Upgrade the firmware to version 2.12. To update firmware, install HP Library & Tape Tools (www.hp.com/support/tapetools).
Once the firmware is version 2.12, there is a new test you can use. Here's the info:
---
A new test - EMERGENCY UNLOAD - was added for those cases where a tape is stuck in the drive and all other attempts to remove the tape from the drive have failed. NOTE: This test can take up to an hour as it performs exhaustive retires to release the tape from the drive. If the test is successful, it will release the door and the user must then remove the magazine and pull the tape from the drive. NOTE: A tape can become stuck in a drive because either it or the drive is damaged, please inspect the media for damage or defect and discontinue use of the media if it is damaged.
