need scsi cable p/n for 2nd ait50 drive in a SSL2020 library
I'm adding a AIT50 drive to a SSL2020 library, giving a total of 2 drives. Am I correct in assuming I need a SCSI cable that will be dedicated to this added drive (rather than running both drives of one cable)? If so, what is the P/N of this scsi cable?
Many thanks,
Keith Rogan

Re: need scsi cable p/n for 2nd ait50 drive in a SSL2020 library
Keith,
All I can find is the following;
ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/products/storageworks/techdoc/tapestorage/187194e1.pdf
It doesn't say what type of ribbon cable is needed. Is there a P/N on the cable currently in use ?

Can you mention which server you are using?
Wide Differential SCSI, 5M 328215-001

Thanks for replying.
The current scsi cable has these markings:-
606642-005 B 33/03 DDH
and it runs from a terminator on the rear metal plate of the library box down to a connector on a PCB, over to a connector for the drive and then back over to a scsi port on the rear metal plate of the box. There is no spare connector for a 2nd device, so it looks like a 2nd drive must have it's own cable. I'm unable to find any info. on these markings on the hp site at the moment.
The existing drive in the library is currently connected to one port of a scsi adapter in a DL380G2, so a 2nd tape drive in the library could connect to the other port of this adapter.
Thanks for the P/N 5M 328215-001, I'll see if this does the job.
