hi
i have purchased a new dlt1e drive.previously i was using dlt80e.now dlt1 is not accepting the catridges used by dlt80e it is ejecting it out.is it normal?what kind of catridge is required for dlt1?is there any format difference between dlt80e catridges and dlt1e catridges?

Hi !
DLT1 is not compatible with DLT7000 and 8000 formats. You will have to use new tapes with it or bulk erase the one you have used before in Quantum drives.
The DLT1 is only able to 'read' tapes written with DLT4000 drives but will treat them as 'read-only'.
Please note that DLT1 is not a Quantum drive but a Benchmark drive.
