tape unit installed but what is wrong?

I got my tape unit installed using sam its a hp C1355A which HP says is a 4 GB unit when I used sam to back up all of my hard drives 2 one gig
seagates sam used three tapes up unill I aborted the backup I am using HPUX 10.20 the tape unit is setup as density dds2 ATT immedeiate mode exhaustive configure mode fixed block size
/dev/rmt/cot1d0wDDS2. the tapes are 3M 4mm dat tape DDS-90. They dont say DDS-2 is this the problem??

Hi James,

What sort of throughput do you get if you
use 'fbackup' from the command line
instead of 'sam'? Perhaps you could try
backing up one filesystem at a time and
compare some stats.

Try this:

# /usr/sbin/fbackup -i /usr -f /dev/rmt/0m

Change the filesystem with /usr to something
else to see what happens. I am not sure
if the device is set correctly? Do you have
other devices like what I've mentioned above?

Thanks I got a new tape DDS2
and that was it.
