3400cl loosing connections
I am getting a lot of complaints that staff connected to a single one of my 3400cl's are getting kicked off the network very frequently (every couple of minutes). Looking at the switch, there are a few errors on a few of the ports complaining, but the error rate is very low. The logs are showing some ports showing:
port 2 is now off-line
port 2 is now on-line
port 2 is now off-line
port 2 is now on line
The port number, time, and number of disconnects appear to be random.
I would assume this would indicate that the cable is being disconnected, but if that is the case, why would this issue start on the same day for over a dozen users on a single switch only and continue for a week.
Thoughts?

Re: 3400cl loosing connections

You can find many threads with the same case:

But what i want to ask, did you enable LACP ? do you have PCM+ with port monitoring enabled ?
Good Luck !!!

Re: 3400cl loosing connections
I do have no lacp on all the ports of the switch and am running PCM2.1 with Traffic monitor on using sampling method. Is there a recommended way to run PCM traffic on this device with no lacp. If not any recommendations on the best alterative, ie enable lacp with traffic, or keep no lacp and stop monitoring the switch???
Thanks

Re: 3400cl loosing connections
Hi
Since its a Client port, then disabling LACP is ok, but the idea is, why don;t you stop monitoring for a while and see whats the result.
Good Luck !!!
