4106GL trunk problems, first ping replies...

We've got a bunch of 4160s (4108) and 4000m switches.Couple of buildings. One building with core 4160 and bunch of 4000Ms connected to another 4160 by fiber trunk. The remote 4160 has three 4000m connected.Core switch with 4 physical VLANs and routing enabled. If I ping the remote 4160 (which has no routing enabled) from a PC connected to one of the 4000m in the main bulding but on the different subnet/VLAN then the trunk and the remote switch I get one reply and intermittent replies every 15-20 pings. This does not happen when PC is connected directly to core 4160 on the same vlan as above. The questions are: should I disable LACP on all of the remaining ports on the core switch and are there any issues with this setup ? Does it matter how the "logical" stacking management is configured i.e. which switch is commander vs. stack member? Also there is a Netscreen in the picture. I have read that it might be an issue. Thx

4108 are not good for routing, but are excellent for switching. Use something else for routing.

We are not doing any serious routing, 4 subnets, 3 of which are actually busy. Most of the traffic is confined to the "home" VLAN/Subnet. Thx for reply.
