LAN Disaster Recovery Planning
Any suggestions/advice on what should be included, what to think about etc?
Or any useful URLs on this subject?
Thanks.

Re: LAN Disaster Recovery Planning
Some of the DR concepts depend on the infrastructure that is or will be in place.
Is the LAN flat or segmented? VLANs? core/edge switches? layer2 or 3? mesh? trunks? STP?
Then there are physical site considerations. Building separation for natural or man made disasters, power fail, fire, earthquake, tornado, 9/11, etc.
This all then factors on what is the need driving High Availability and what the worst case recovery time has to be.

Re: LAN Disaster Recovery Planning
yes, really just looking for best practise type information at this stage: examples of what should be included, examples of what to take into consideration, etc - rather than any specific "nitty-gritty" details, at this stage.
If anyone has any useful resources on this kind of thing, eg helpful URLs, recommended books, etc then that would also be appreciated.
Thanks,
Neil

Re: LAN Disaster Recovery Planning
I've enjoyed reading "High Availability Networking with Cisco" by Vincent C. Jones. It covers some of the topics - but the intended audience is people with hands-on. Great if you know something about configuring boxes, routing protocols etc., otherwise quite boring - loads of sample configurations
Take a look at <> and see if it fits your needs.>
