Reduced network speed between ProCurve 2810-24G and 1800-24G

Hi

We have the following setup:
1x 2810-24G (All servers are connected to this switch)
5x 1800-24G
(2x 1800-24G connected through TP with the 2810-24G, 3x 1800-24G connected through fiber)

Sometimes the performance from our users to our file/print server is reduced tramatically. It will take around 20 minutes to copy aprox. 5MB.
If I try to copy data between the file/print server and one of the servers connected to the same switch it seems to work fine. I can also copy data from another server to the users. The problem is only on the file/print server.

The server is a brand new HP ProLiant ML350 G6 so the hardware should be fine.

Is there any special settings I should be aware of?

Hello,

Are all the 1800's connected directly to the 2810 ?

How are you using your NICs in the server (are they teamed)

A switch config from the 2810 would probably be usefull.

You can monitor the bandwidth usage of the switches with a tool like www.cacti.net to know if you have a network bottleneck.
