Switch Config Question
I have been tasked with the start of routing out our traffic, and i need to see if what we want to do is feasible.
Current Network is basically one giant Subnet (255.255.0.0) We want to break up the network by Distribution points, So we will have roughly 7 different Vlans.
Now this will be a staggered approach, not a overnight kind of deal.
I am running into trouble having the switch route traffic when the Default Vlan has the subnet of 255.255.0.0 and is attempting to route to a 255.255.255.0 in the same Ip Range, example 45.0.3.1/16 routing to a 45.0.0.2/24.
It just cant talk to it, but the 45.0.0.2 can ping at least the default Vlan IP address, but thats it.
Is what we want to do even possible? We have a couple issues with Default gateways and such, but i am getting stuck at this part.
