DBA process showing IB block in glance (DBA is very slow)

Hi,

I am getting below errors in glance o/p. dba processes showing IO block due to which dba is very slow.

I have checked all the disks, dmesg. but did not get any issue.

ora_dbw1_APE       23743 oraape       51.8     1   8.4    71.0mb   74.1mb    IO
owcimomd            7559 owcimomd     49.0     4   0.0    1.30gb   1.32gb SLEEP
ora_dbw0_APE       23741 oraape       47.1     1   7.7    66.9mb   69.5mb    IO
xpinfo             19938 root         17.3     1   0.0    28.1mb   35.0mb    IO

Appreciate your response.

Re: DBA process showing IB block in glance (DBA is very slow)

Hi,

database processes that block for IO is one thing.

However xpinfo blocking for IO might be more interesting.

Time xpinfo.

#date; xpinfo -i; date

And then time ioscan -fnN.

# date;ioscan -fnN;date

If the time it takes for both commands is equal, and its more then it used to , relatively to the amount of lunpaths , then their could be a fibrechannel driver/sanissue/storage issue.

Log a hp support call to check things out, if the above is the case.

Br,

Chris
