Once the LUN is created on the EVA, what is the process on the HP/UX side. Someone mentioned
LVM PVLINKS? I have created LVOLS on our existing Raid using SAM, but have done little to touch the physical drives.
Our HP-FE will be installing the cards and drivers..
What is the sequence of events post install to begin using this space, in terms of commands from LVM ?

SolutionNormal process:
insf -C disk
insf -e
# For grins
ioscan
or
ioscan -fnCdisk
You see the disk.
Then:
pvcreate
lvcreate
newfs
etc.

Re: EVA presentment to HP-UX 11.11 Question?
HPUX 11.31 has native maulti pathing, you dont have to use the pvlinks.

Re: EVA presentment to HP-UX 11.11 Question?
The Os is 11.11 and not 11.31 , so a native multipathing technique needs to be employed .

Re: EVA presentment to HP-UX 11.11 Question?
If you have the cash, EMC PowerPath, VxVM with DMP, or HP AutoPath all do a better job at taking care of load balancing, failover and failback. Personally I have used both PowerPath and AutoPath. I like PowerPath better.
