Re: GUI can't use
X itself does not store the IPadres. The name resolution for the machhine itself should be good.
You can test this with nslookups to the hostname and the ipadres. They sshould give the same info back. If not:
- check DNS
- check /etc/hosts
- check /etc/rc.config.d/netconf
If you change the last 2, you should restart the network services (or reboot).

Re: GUI can't use
Thank you for reply my question .
The ip was 172.24.100.205, I just change to 172.24.100.215 , and I changed nothing else.
My unix NIC ip info is blow:
---------------------
IP_ADDRESS[1]=172.24.100.215
SUBNET_MASK[1]=255.255.255.0
INTERFACE_NAME[1]=lan1
BROADCAST_ADDRESS[1]=172.24.100.255
INTERFACE_STATE[1]=up
---------------------
I try to ping my hostname,that's right result
We use hosts file resolve hostname.
--------------------------------------
[gbm17410:] #ping gbm17410
PING gbm17410: 64 byte packets
64 bytes from 172.24.100.215: icmp_seq=0. time=0. ms
------------------------------------------
Do you have any idea to check ?
Thank you very much

Re: GUI can't use
GUI uses host name resolution, so changing IP address should not have stop GUI. You have to restart Network services, beat by rebooting the server

Re: GUI can't use
nslookup gbm17410
nslookup 172.24.100.205
It should answer with the right adresses/names.

Re: GUI can't use
From your previous response of nslookup,
I think there are two entires for "gbm17410" in your /etc/hosts file.
can you attach your /etc/hosts file here to check whether this is the case.
Thanx.
