How can I reset the Fibre card? There's no link light...

Have an N class 11i server recently setup, not live yet.

Cannot get the link light on the fibre card to light up.
Have set an IP address and netmask.

Card in ifconfig shows up as UP.
Cannot ping anything.

Does an "ifconfig unplumb", reset the fibre card?
Someone suggested resetting the fibre card with ndd.

Have you had a problem like this before?

fcmsutil /dev/tdx reset will reset the card. Before you do that, did you check the connections/cables??

Yes.
Checked cables, GBIC, switch etc.
Cable works, GBIC works...since these work on another server.

If this is a fibre network card (Gigabit ethernet) then you should be able to do a reset via the lanadmin command.

Do a 'lanscan' to get the PPA number and then do a 'lanadmin -r 1' (where 1 is the appropriate PPA for your card).

Looks like this fibre card was set at 1 gig full duplex.
Reset this to 1 gig auto negotiation and I get the link light on the fibre card.

Forgot to mention; it's an ethernet gig card.
I reset the card parameters via the ndd command.

Used ndd to reset the fibre ether card.
