How do I install/find the Gnu linker, ld, on my B.11.23 ia64 box?
I successfully installed a gcc 3.4.2 depot, which I thought included binutils, which I thought in turn included gnu's ld. But I can't seem to find it. And I don't see anything obvious at the porting center at http://hpux.cs.utah.edu.

Solution
I don't have a 11.2x handy anymore, but it might just b e that GNU ld is not supported in the requested environment.
I know for example for sure that GNU ld *is* supported on pa-risc-2.0w (64 bit), but is *not* supported on pa-risc-1.x or pa-risc-2.0 (32 bit)
Enjoy, Have FUN! H.merijn

Hi Ed,
here is HP link for gcc and binutils
http://h21007.www2.hp.com/dspp/tech/tech_TechSoftwareDetailPage_IDX/1,1703,547,00.html
Note that HP-UX B.11.23 = HP-UX 11i v2
Regards,
Zygmunt

Re: How2 install gnu linker on B.11.23 ia64?
Ahh, read the install page, it explains why it's not there:
http://hpux.connect.org.uk/hppd/cgi-bin/wwwtar?/hpux/Gnu/gcc-3.4.2/gcc-3.4.2-ss-11.11.tar.gz+gcc-3.4.2/HPUX.Install+text
reads:
--8<---
* binutils/gas/testsuite directory tree:
- Deleted entirely - building gcc twice using gas is good enough testing.
-->8---
Enjoy, Have FUN! H.Merijn
