Ignite
I do not have a SCSI Interface to connect the DAT 72 Tape drive to my server. I need to take a bootable recovery archive of vg00 of my system as its in production.

Ignite will only create bootable backups to approved tape drives.
You either get a SCSI card and cable and use a certified tape drive or you risk creating an image that won't work.
USB is not supported in this context.

If you don't have DAT drive, how do you recover?

Please go for make_net_recovery.believe me its really very easy to handle and much faster as compare to tape.
