NO_HW disks but still available

hello,

All my SAN disks turned to NO_HW status after removing 5 luns from SAN.

those disks still working because they are affecting to a HPVM-Guest wich still runing and UP

 did all the cleanup by ioscan/insf , scsimgr replace_wwid and rmsf ...

did you remove all the luns which were in NO_HW state?

can you check if such LUNs are still existing in ioscan -m lun?

then do rmsf .....

Hi silusan,

I coult do rmsf to the unused luns which are not present now on the server.

The system try to clean up all special files of the other luns,  it can't succeed because the lun is used ...

On the other hand, I tried to present new luns to the server, I can't see them, even if I took a look into the syslog, I can't see the common message with scsimgr replace_wwid

Hi Silusan,

I've already thought about the "scsimgr replace_wwid" issue, it's not the case ...

The reboot doesn't fix anything

with IBM DS8K array, the hostgroup type HPUX should have absolotuly disks with ID=0, if it's not the case, all the others luns will be invisible
