Re: Need of the daemosn nfskd abd nfsktcpd
Hi Sagar,
nfsd daemons are responsible for handling the majority of all NFS server requests with the exception of MOUNT requests and file locking requests.
Special nfsd daemon is called as nfsktcpd.
These daemons must be running on a system for it to serve NFS filesystems.
May be this link will help you out more.

Hi Sagar,

If your NFS server is not receiving any requests via UDP then why would the nfsd daemons be consuming CPU time? These daemons should be idle if there are no UDP requests.
Can you collect an "nfsstat -s" from the server and post it here?
Thanks,
Dave
