Ulimit
I have to change the ulimit for some parameters as some oracle application installation is about to begin. but whenever i make changes to it is effective only for the session and when i loggout from the login it goes back to the default. how come i can change these limits.
My OS is Tru64 v5.1 please advice.

Note that if you change certain parameters to unlimited, it can break Oracle's startup script.
So don't do that globally. If you must you may be forced to make changes to the oracle environment scripts. Thats what we did, but it was a little detail that had to be checked or it messed with oracle patching and upgrades.

Sometimes you will get better Tru64
information sooner in a Tru64 forum than you
will in this HP-UX forum.
