Hi,
On an HP-UX 11i machine, one os the vg's is getting deactivated after reboot.
I found that the /etc/lvmrc file have the entry "AUTO_VG_ACTIVATE=0", and there is no 'custom_vg_activation' defined for this.
Is this the only reason why this vg go offline?
Thanks for the help!

Solution
Hi
with the present setup of the /etc/lvmrc with no custom_vg_activation as defined, with the system startup only the root VG shall get activated.
YOu need to make more checks on the specified VG like if in your system this VG has to be activated using any Service Guard Cluster package.
If you are manually able to activate this VG and mount the FS manually, and if it is sure that the VG is not to be activated using any SG package then, might be adding an custom_vg_activation entry for this VG in the /etc/lvmrc is required to activate this in the system boot.
regards
sujit

Re: VG getting deactivated after reboot.
Sujit,
Thanks for the immediate reply. This server was a part of a SG cluster, but now it's not.
I need this VG to be activated locally, on this machine. So my plan would be to add those 'custom_vg_activation' entry on the /etc/lvmrc.
Thanks again!
