control-c key during rc script running
Hi
Using hp-ux 11.31.
Where do I control control-c(abort) in the middle of runing rc script on booting?
while rc scripts(/sbin/rc*.d) is running, rc script aborted when I tried to control-c key but
On other system this control-c key do not effect. How to control control-c during booting?
From MP console:
HP-UX Start-up in progress

Configure system crash dumps ................................. OK

VxVM INFO V-5-2-3360 VxVM device node check .................. OK
VxVM INFO V-5-2-3362 VxVM general startup .................... OK
VxVM INFO V-5-2-3366 VxVM reconfiguration recovery ........... OK

.
I tried to control-c key and rc scripts stoped and displayed "console login" like below
(The point press control-c key is not fixed and is random)
The system is ready.
GenericSysName [HP Release B.11.31] (see /etc/issue)
Console Login:
But I can't see this symptom on other system. I don't know what difference of both of two system.
Where this signal is controled?

Re: control-c key during rc script running
Presumably because on your systems the consoles have different stty settings? Compare the output of:
stty -a </dev/console
On the systems where this works/doesn't work - you are specifically looking for what "intr" is set to...

Hmm. I thought you could only do control-\ for the SIGQUIT signal.
Any reason you even tried control-C?

Re: control-c key during rc script running
Hi,
Here is my test procedure:
1. login in my system from my pc trough telnet
krca# telnet mp-console-ip for the system that CNTL-C didn't work
and here do the shutdown & reboot
and return back to original system(krca)
2. and to try other system
krca#telnet mp-console-ip for the system that CNTL-C works
so I think stty is not issue of krca system.
krca#stty -a
speed 9600 baud; line = 0;
rows = 35; columns = 116
min = 4; time = 0;
intr = ^C; quit = ^\; erase = DEL; kill = ^U

Re: control-c key during rc script running
So that stty output is for the client system session (krca), not for the 2 systems which you aree trying to compare... so as I said previously, on the 2 systems where you see differences you need to see the stty settings for the console (not for your client session), which you can get using:
stty -a < /dev/console
