Hi!
during mirroring vg00 to a new disk i noticed that original HPSP is empty:
some_srv:/ # efi_ls -d /dev/rdisk/disk9_p3
FileName Last Modified Size
total space 418598912 bytes, free space 418578432 bytes
Can one pls advise the source to populate both original vg00 disk's and its new mirror's - HPSP - with minimal required set of tools.
i found 1 article "HP Integrity Servers - HP-UX: How to Install Offline Diagnostics Environment (ODE) to HPSP.." but probably ODE is not the 'standard' set of tools to be stored at this partition.
Model is 'ia64 hp server BL870'.
Thanks,

SolutionSure you need it?
Usually not.
Get the latest Diagnostics IPF1203 from here
It's outdated, new components are provided as separated downloads.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: howto populate HPSP ( EFI service partition )
Thanks for the URL!
i believe that IPF ODE could be needed, as it is a boot disk.
New problem occured:
# efi_ls -d /dev/rdisk/disk20_p3
efi_ls: invalid efi device
# efi_ls -d /dev/disk/disk20_p3
efi_ls: invalid efi device
while partition 3 exists:
# idisk /dev/rdisk/disk20
[cut..]
Primary Partition Table (in 512 byte blocks):

Ending Lba Lo = 0xf9fff
Ending Lba Hi = 0x0
Partition 2 (HP-UX):

Unique Partition GUID = ae0a2ae0-8905-11e3-8000-d6217b60e588

Starting Lba Hi = 0x0
Ending Lba Lo = 0x10ef7fff
Ending Lba Hi = 0x0
Partition 3 (HPSP):
Partition Type GUID = e2a1e728-32e3-11d6-a682-7b03a0000000
Unique Partition GUID = ae0a2aea-8905-11e3-8000-d6217b60e588
Starting Lba Lo = 0x10ef8000
Starting Lba Hi = 0x0
Ending Lba Lo = 0x10fbffbf

How to make it work (HPSP partition) and what device to use with efi_cp: raw or block?
Thanks,

Re: howto populate HPSP ( EFI service partition )
It is enough to have the CD (without installing), you can use it directly from CD.
It contains some (meanwhile outdated) firmware.
So you don't really need this installed.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
