Re: log file

Hi

a) GSP Event Logs, 'control b' > sl > event
b) /etc/opt/resmon/logs > best info many times
c) /var/tombstones > grep for mca's and hpmc's
d) /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log > main log
e) /etc/rc.log > run level start up errors
f) /etc/shutdownlog > record of panics and failures

There are other logs that are application or utility specific and depends on what they are or what you are running. I.e., Oracle logs, netbackup logs, omniback logs, etc.

Console logs
dmesg
/etc/Old.rc.log
/etc/rc.log
/etc/opt/resmon/logs
/var/adm/syslog/OLD.syslog.log
/var/adm/syslog/syslog.log
/etc/shutdownlog

Above error logs refer to System related.

Problems are common to all, but attitude makes the difference
