new HP-UX servers and OVPA

Hi,
my customer has bought some new hp-ux ia servers. When i want to install OV Performance Agent on the servers, i saw that OVPA is already running although there are no corresponding entries in 'swlist'. Can someone explain this? Is ovpa installed by default or within another package? Also, is that licensed or trial?
Thanks in advance

Re: new HP-UX servers and OVPA

Shalom,

Sure looks like OVPA was installed by default.

Re: new HP-UX servers and OVPA

Hi,

Depends on what HP-UX Operating Environment you have purchased.

OVPA is a part of Glance Plus Pak and comes by default along with the HP-UX Enterprise OE and above.

Check the above link, if you still have questions.

Check in swlist for HPOvPerf or Measureware

Re: new HP-UX servers and OVPA

Try

swlist -l product

or

swlist -l fileset

Does that show it?

Re: new HP-UX servers and OVPA

Hi,
Thanks for your replies.
Do you think i should uninstall existing one and install OVPA 4.5? Or this is already a bundled/licensed solution?

by the way, swlist does not show HPOvPerf or Measureware.

Re: new HP-UX servers and OVPA

Try :
swlist -l fileset |grep Measure

or :

/opt/perf/bin/perfstat -v
