quota -v

quota -v

Hi,

I have a problem with the quota command and multibile exports.

On a Netapp Filer we have diff. exports.
eg:
/uxexe01
/uxexe01/wlrprg
The quota for users that have the mount from /uxexe01 i see the quota

The quota for users that have the mount
from /uxexe01/wlrprg I dont see the quota.

On other OS (Solaris/AIX) I dont have this problem. I see all quotas.

Anny idea to fix this problem?

Re: quota -v

Hi Peter,

I have always understood quota was per file system, since you have 2 FS, you would have to also fix (refix) the quotas on /uxexe01/wlrprg also although from a users point of vue its it seen as a subdirectory of /uxexe01...
And I always used to fix quotas per file system and nerver had any issues like you.

But I may be wrong...

All the best

Re: quota -v

Hi Victor,

on the Netapp Filer /uxexe01/wlrprg is a
subdirectory of /uxexe01.
exports:
/uxexe01 -sec=sys,rw=hp00318:hpxxx # usabe on more servers
/uxexe01/wlrprg -sec=sys,rw=hp00318 # usable on 1 server

quota is displayd only for filesystems mountet over /uxexe01 and not for filesystems mountet over /uxexe01/wlrprg.

Re: quota -v

Hi again Peter,
When you say this problem doesnt exist on other OS, how do you mount the file systems?
Since you say in the previous only one server can access /uxexe01/wlrprg.
I understand this box isnt the solaris or aix but the HP, has is got mounted /uxexe01 also?
The quota file is at the root of the mount point so I suppose you have have it in /uxexe01 and if you only mount /uxexe01/wlrprg it is not there... and I dont know what quota -v gives in such case, have you tried quotacheck?

All the best
