SolutionFor example, your DDS3 can write tapes that can be read by DDS3 and DDS4 drives BUT a DDS2 drive cannot read your tape.
I keep an old DDS (2GB) drive around so that I can send data to any DDS drive.

It is a DDS-3 drive.
Compatibility:
DDS, DDS-DC, DDS2, DDS3.
You cannot use DDS4 tapes anyway.
