Directories intact, files missing

I am attempting to recover lost data from our old T3000 setup. It was backup procedure where once a day was a daily backup and once a week was a weekly on a different tape and the 4 weeks of the month had their own set.

It's restoring the correct directory structure, but most of the directories are empty where there should be files. What does this mean?

One possibilityis that you would hv taken backup when the file system was dismounted.

Is it possible that your weekly backups are not FULL backups? Incremental backups would contain the directories, but if no files were changed (no need to back up), then the directories would be empty.

A FULL backup would always contain all files in any directory.
