Hi Folks,
We need to connect an MSL2024 Ultrium 960 FC/4Gb to a Proliant server. According to the EBS Design Guide, we can direct-attach (DAF) the library to an internal FC HBA, such as the FC2142 (Support for FC-Tape devices). The server will be running Windows 2k3 Srv, and HP Dataprotector 6.
Q. Are there any special concerns or suggestions regarding this setup?
Thanks in advance for your valuable responses,
Sergio

Solution
No special concerns with that configuration it should work very nicely and is simpler than a configuration using a switch. I ran that configuration myself for a while but have since added a B-Series switch.
I would recommend leaving the port configuration settings at the defaults of Automatic topology and Automatic speed and the drive is quite good at connecting correctly every time.
