We have problem with the tape drive, we are able to detect via Ioscan but unable to backup.

Hi there

if you do an ioscan -fn does it show you a valid device file? And is the device CLAIMED? Also do you have the correct kernel drivers installed for this device?

I t would be very useful to get some information about what you are using to backup and what errors are returned.
Never preceed any demonstration with anything more predictive than "watch this"
