Transferring data from media to another form of media

This is a utility program that copies from one form of media (tape-to-tape) to another form of media (DDS)?
Currently, I am using MPE-iX (HP918).
My HP7978 is down and HP can not find any parts available.

There are companies that do data conversion from one media to another. Search the Internet or your Yellow Pages for "Data Conversion"

You might look around for a used HP7980 or HP7980XC tape drive. Although also discontinued products, they still have a while to go in support life.

The 7980 products will read 7978 tapes.

You can probably find them at very resonable prices.
