Connect HP V1910-16G and HP 1810-24G V2

Hi,

I currently have a layer 3 HP V1910-16G, this switch has several VLANs associated with it for my lab environment.

Basically, Ive run out of ports and have an 1810-24G V2 knocking around.

Anyone have any ideas how I can connect these 2 together and have the VLANs presented on the 1810?

From what ive read I think I need link aggregation.

Im a bit confused on how to set it up though as im not really a networking expert.

Any help greatly appreciated!

Patch the two switches together.

On each switch, log into it and assign all your VLANs as tagged VLANs to the switchport you just patched in.

Cool, is it that simple?

Ive read issues with looping etc connecting switches together. Is that something to worry about?

One step at a time.

After you have everything working, you can think about adding an extra link between the two switches - to do this, on each switch add both ports to a new trunk group.

But get your basic connectivity working with a single link first.
