HP Procurve 1910 not reachable with ping/http

Hi,

I took over 7  HP Procurve 1910 Switches, only one is available via ping/http. I have an old documentation with the Management-IPs for them but only one is working. Is there a way to find out the Managment-IPs of the 1910s? I do I need to install a network managment software to find them? Is there a free tool from HP available?

Re: HP Procurve 1910 not reachable with ping/http

Default the switch uses DHCP to get address, without DHCP it uses MAC derived 169.254.x.x address

If lldp is enabled, its management IP address might be present in its LLDP broadcasts.
Also the COM port can be used to figure out the switch IP address.
For smaller subnets like /24, a port scanner looking for open port tcp80 is usable too.
