Trunking GBIC ports in Procuve 1810G-24

I have several ProCurve 1810G-24 switches I want to link via fiber. with GBIC's inststalled each port (23 or 24) communicates with the other switch. As soon as I make either port part of a trunk is stops communicating. Is there a setting I am missing? I can make trunks with other ports but not the fiber ports.

Thanks

Re: Trunking GBIC ports in Procuve 1810G-24

On J9450A SFP Slots 23S and 24S can't be used CONCURRENTLY with RJ45 Ports 23T and 24T: or the RJ45 ones or the SFP ones, not together (either/or)...so if you're using 23T then 23S can't be used too, the same is valid for the pair 24T/24S...this restriction (a feature, from another point of view) is generally known as "Dual Personality" or "Combo" ports.

From the HP ProCurve 1810G-24 QuickSpecs:

"Dual-personality ports (1810G-24 switch): two 10/100/1000 ports or mini-GBIC slots for optional fiber connectivity such as Gigabit-SX, -LX, or -LH, or 100-FX"

So first of all check that Ports 23T and 24T aren't used (connected) if you're planning to use Slots 23S and 24S.
