starting failure and disk boot stuck

I'm testing a DS20E Alpha server but i had a problem when starting the station, because it startup a little bit you can see a blue screen with dash blinking, then the keyboard lights flashes then nothing happens until 2 - 5 min the station reboot again and again, i can't even get to the SRM console so... 
- i have a disk drive wich was working on a station and when i took it up to another server it doesn't boot up the boot stuck at "jumping to bootstrap ..." and nothing happens even after hours of waiting, how can i make the disk work again ... if i can't how can format the disk and how can i make full backup of another same disk data ?? (not backup of the system but all the disk)
