Software to split from Hewlett Packard Enterprise
As you may have seen in the last few months, Hewlett Packard Enterprise is combining some software assets with Micro Focus. Starting June 2017, Software will spin-off and merge with Micro Focus. This leaves HPE better positioned as an industry leader in hybrid IT solutions. A new Software instance of an online community will be created on May 28, 2017.
Note: Revised date is now May 15, 2017 - new URL: https://community.saas.hpe.com/
All boards within the current Software category will be located to a new community and a new URL will be provided. Redirects will be put in place and should still be working for up to one year from the original migration date.
The HPE Community will remain focused on enterprise solutions, hardware and services going forward, and no longer can provide support for software products.
The full list of the Software blogs, forums and online support communities moving to the new instance are:
Blogs
- All About the Apps
- Backup and Governance
- Big Data
- IT Operations Management (ITOM)
- IT Service Management
- LoadRunner and Performance Center

We will continue to provide further updates in this Annoucement board.

What does this mean? That a random URL typed in a browser will still work for awhile?
If the URL is IN a post that's moved and points into the new forum, this should work forever.
I.e. Rewrite the links when moved. Or there should be a database of old URLs to new that can be consulted for much longer.
I.e. this was the major complaint about the move from ITRC to Lithium. It depended on the kindness of google cache but only for a few months.
Has anyone thought what happens to these boards?

This may need to be cloned or each scrubbed for proper product.
https://community.hpe.com/t5/Practitioners-Discussion-Forum/bd-p/pracdf
This should just be deleted/archived and moved. It just attracts topics in the wrong board and they must be moved.

Move.

I don't remember seeing anything but HPE Software products
Lots of duplication with:

These archived boards should be moved:

https://community.hpe.com/t5/Legacy-Events/bd-p/events
May want to clone since a lot deal with Software Expert Days.
I'm not sure about all of the boards under this misnamed category:

I would have thought these would stay?

https://community.hpe.com/t5/Remote-Lights-Out-Mgmt-iLO-2-iLO/bd-p/itrc-298
Not sure who owns:

Will the tags and avatars be cloned too?
Edit: Tags moved but without owners. Avatars moved.

Hi Dennis,
The Software team are determining all the content to be migrated, and yes tags and avatars will be cloned also.
