HPE Apollo drives monitoring issue
Hello everyone.
From time to time we have an issue with drives on our HPE Apollo Servers. From OS side it looks like the drives are being simply "offlined", however iLO is not reporting any event or error. The drive just disappears from the list and that's it. One of the field engineers informed us, that in case RAID0 used on the platform, nothing is being monitored in case of drive removal. Reseating the drive is the solution, but the problem is that we are getting no notification about the problem - as already mentioned iLO is not reporting anything. Only way is to send engineer on-site and investigate which disk failed.
Does anybody knows if this is expected behaviour and on-site action is the only way out ?
Regards

Re: HPE Apollo drives monitoring issue
Hello,
Since the information shared is very limited.
we would recommend you to keep the Controller Driver , Firmware , ILo Firmware and depending on the Server Model if the Backplane/expander is installed , then recommend you to update the firmware of the same.
Again depending on the server Model , if it uses AMS then make sure AMS is updated as well.
also check ILO Chipset Driver is at the latest.
POST performing all above upgraded , if the issue persists ,then it is possible that there may be an underlying H/W issue. for this we would recommend raising a support ticket.
