HPE tech gets tough at DSEI 2023

When we talk about mission-critical technologies, we’re often thinking in terms of a high-performance solution for a bank that can’t lose a single transaction. Or a system that can achieve . But did you know that HPE also delivers solutions that serve actual defense industry missions where the security of an entire nation is on the line?

HPE will be exhibiting at DSEI 2023, a premier defense industry event happening in London, September 12-15. The Defence and Security Equipment International show has taken place over the past 24 years. This year, the event  will be connecting over 2,800 defense and security suppliers with 35,000 in-person attendees. DSEI brings together governments, the armed forces, and a broad ecosystem, including leading technology providers like HPE.

The challenges of the public sector

Maybe the most visible part of the public sector are national armed forces, but the sector encompasses all types of governmental services, such as law enforcement, public transit, education, and public health care. Technology solutions that serve this industry certainly do serve the needs of the military and national security, but solutions in this area also help improve the citizen experience, increase the efficiency and reach of government agencies, and improve public safety and environmental sustainability.

HPE delivers a broad range of solutions to meet the challenges of the public sector.  Our portfolio of public sector solutions  features digital IT transformation solutions that help democratize data and deliver advanced analytics with a citizen-centric approach.

Hard facts around HPE Storage for public sector

Cloud-connected data storage management has been delivering proven benefits. including on-premises security, along with unmatched performance and data availability:

  • All-NVMe based solutions delivering 4X the performance of legacy platforms[1]
  • HPE Alletra 9000 based solutions with 100% guaranteed availability[2]
  • 8X processing speed improvements supporting data-driven decision-making[3]

HPE GreenLake for Data Storage is a cloud-based storage-as-a-service platform that simplifies the setup, configuration, and administration of data storage infrastructure, enabling a fast refresh for aging environments. It allows for the consumption of infrastructure as a service, providing a management experience similar to a hyperscaler but uniquely preserving the on-premises safety and control of data storage resources. This helps ensure the privacy, security, and performance of an organization’s most important data and applications.

HPE GreenLake for Data Storage leverages its strengths for the public sector

In particular, three leverage the strength of HPE data storage offerings to solve difficult challenges for public sector customers:

Digital government – This solution improves government by transforming and modernizing the use of technology and data to better deliver public administrative services. It broadly addresses organizational technology needs across application engineering, files and records management, private cloud and related data protection, and disaster recovery. To do this, it employs various HPE GreenLake for Data Storage services and HPE Storage platforms for hosting mission-critical private clouds and scale-out file storage and then protects them with HPE GreenLake for Backup and Recovery as well as HPE GreenLake for Disaster Recovery.

Smart cities and spaces – This solution enables the collection of data from sensors and devices, generating related insights, providing a common control plane, and supporting important services to municipal teams, citizens, and tourists. This is an HPE Services-led solution that delivers video surveillance and analytics outcomes, including facial recognition applications and logic, related digital infrastructure and data platforms, and downstream public services. It can use HPE GreenLake for Block Storage, along with various HPE GreenLake for Data Storage services and HPE Storage platforms, as well as products such as HPE StoreOnce as a low-cost data archive.

Government research and intelligence – Using scale-out file storage technology, this solution addresses the need for large file data storage for government research on energy, weather, life sciences, and intelligence data, and it serves the requirements of national security and similar data analytics usage. The solution is built on the new HPE GreenLake for File Storage offering that uses high-performance All-Flash NVMe storage to supercharge data-intensive workloads and employs an innovative, disaggregated, shared-everything scale-out architecture.

Boots on the ground to serve the Public Sector

HPE will be in attendance at DSEI to answer questions and to team up on solving tough tech problems across the defense and security supply chain and beyond. If you’re attending the event, visit HPE in Hall 1 Stand: H1-186. And learn about how we provide tailored hybrid-cloud technology solutions and services to the defense sector – and how we enhance capabilities in areas such as zero-trust security, data management, and infrastructure optimization for mission-critical operations. Planned demos for the show include Command and Control in a Disconnected World, and Tactical 5G-in-a-box: Enabling AI/ML at the Rugged Edge.
