System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2019 and NimbleStorage SMI-S
We have our SCVMM 2019 configured via SMI-S to allow us to create, and delete Nimble Volumes through SCVMM. One thing we are seeing is that when we create a cluster shared volume through SCVMM, the Initiator group that is subsequently created on the Nimble array is a group of one Initiator. So if the CSV connects to 5 hosts, there isn't one group with 5 host initiators in it as you would expect, there is 5 groups, with each of the hosts intiators in that group.
Is there a way around this, or to manually create an SMI-S connected initiator group, where it is one SMI-S Group with all of the cluster intiators are configured within?

Re: System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2019 and NimbleStorage SMI-S
Hi BCOasis
Thank you for coming to the HPE Community forums
It is possible to add a new host to a Microsoft cluster with SCVMM that will have the same igroup and volume access as the original hosts
This process will create the igroup assignment on the array (i.e., not make any connections; just creates the initiator groups and ACLs):
Log into the SCVMM server and launch SCVMM.
Fabric > Classification and Pools
Right-click the LUN
Select Properties > Logical Unit Assignment > Add
Enter the iqn of the host you will be adding to the cluster
Click OK > Click OK
Navigate to Jobs and confirm the job is successful
Hope this helps you.!
Regards
Mahesh

Thanks for the response. I will give this a shot to see if it in fact works the way you describe.

Re: System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2019 and NimbleStorage SMI-S
@Mahesh202 This is, in fact, how it is already setup, so this doesn't help.
Is there a way to create an Initiator Group, within the Nimble OS, that can be used with SMI-S, instead of having SMI-S create its own intiator group with one Initiator in it.
