Hi there, first time poster and new to Nimble Storage.
I have found there is an old array that is already EOL, all data migrated, only OS boot volumes remain. I see a previous admin had setup Volume Collection and Replication to the new HF40.
Does not appear to have synchronization, just uses nightly snapshots. Does it need sync for this case?
What is the best way to move forward to activate the volumes on HF40 (the OS for each is a Windows Server HyperV 2019)?

SolutionHello Jonathan,
As the models are different sync replication is not possible and that is not required here as well.
As per your comments I think every 24 hours snapshots are getting created in HF40.
You can shutdown hosts and take volumes offline in CS model. Once done make the replicated boot volumes online in HF40 and configure access to same hosts.
If you need to perform this without downtime, then both Nimbles need to group together and then migrate the volume to new HF40.
Once done you can docommission the old array
Please reach out to our Nimble support team (support@nimblestorage.com) and they would help you with best practices with action plan to accomplish this.
