Hello HPE support and Users Community,
We have Alletra Storage Server 4140,. The server has: two HPE SR932i-p GEN11 Storage controller. And each card has 12 disks. One Storage Enclosure with 4 SSD disks. Then two extra smaller drives like 969GB SSD disks.
But I'm not able to find Boot Controller Card install. I read up on the documentation:. How to setup Alletra Storage Server 4140 boot disk without Boot Controller installed >
Set up the server | HPE Alletra Storage Server 4140 Setup and Installation Guide
And I when i get to:
Select System Configurations > BIOS/Platform Configuration (RBSU) > Storage Options > SATA Controller Options > Embedded SATA configuration > Smart Array SW RAID Support. There is no "Smart Array SW RAID Support in the "Embedded SATA Configuration,. Can you one give any advice what is going on here? Do i need to call HPE sale rep to order Boot Controller card?
Thank you,
Vinh

Re: Query: Alletra Storage server 4140 did not have Boot controller RAID card
Hello HPE support,
Yes, i have opened case with support. Its turn out the the Alletra model 4140 came with two 960GB SSD disks are supposed to be use as NS204i boot controller.
But the size is too large for it. The modulue we have support 480GB in size. So we have to order Boot Controller NS204i controler for it.
That is where we're.
Thanks again. Yes call HPE support is the solution.
