Performance Blocksize Nimble/Alletra und VMware vSphere7x
Hello, in the early days of Nimble and VMware V6-/V7, HPE stated that the blocksize for the volume must be created with the performance policy ESX5 (Virtual Machine volume template) and formatted with 8K in Windows Server 2019/2022 have to be. This would be an average for the VM's for File and SQL Server. Is that still the case today? What is the best practice for a VMware infrastructure (V7x) with Windows Server?
Thanks!
Best regards
werner

Re: Performance Blocksize Nimble/Alletra und VMware vSphere7x
Hi Werner
Hope you are doing well.
Use the performance policy matching the application that will utilize the volumes attached to the VM through the in-guest iSCSI initiator.
For instance, if Exchange 2010 is being set up, use the 'Exchange 2010' performance policy.
Hope this helps.!!
Regards
Mahesh
