Alletra 5030 - add second 5030 for Peer Persistence

Hi Folks,

we have an Alletra 5030 with latest Software, and wanted to add a new purchased 5030 via Alletra GUI. The new 5030 was found, but coudn't be added due to an older software version on the new purchased array.

So we did an array setup, on the news 5030 without any vadditional config, and were able to download and install the latest SW.

Question: What is the best practice to add the array now? I guess we have to execute an "array --resetup" on the new Alletra 5030, and retry the adding proceure from the Management of the existing system?

Hello,
can now answer the question myself. An Alletra 5k / 6k with a completed setup can also join another group. The prerequisite is that the interfaces for group traffic can communicate with each other. We had the problem that the corresponding vLAn was not properly tagged.

For an array in the "resetup" state (array --resetup), it is not possible to join a group of another array.

Hope you are doing good.

As you mentioned, the arrays can be added to a group even if they are fully configured.

Login to the primary array GUI > Hardware > Add Array to Group.

Pre-requisites are, both the arrays should be of same mode, same OS level and same network.
