Alletra mgmt ports
Going to be working on an Alletra 5010 and the unit only came with the two 10Gb onboard mgmt ports, no tg ports. Not an ideal design but that's what I'm working with. I don't want to use a single subnet for mgmt & iscsi so I assume I can create a new virtual interface for iSCSI traffic on each eth0 and eth1 port, tag it on the switch so any untagged traffic is for mgmt and any tagged traffic is for iSCSI - basically getting the resilency of both ports and not having to dedicate eth0 for mgmt and eth1 for iscsi? Am I looking at this correctly or should the design be different? Anyone run into this before?

Re: Alletra mgmt ports
Hi,
That is not recommended. This may cause issue if we you are to use jumbo frames for iscsi and 1500 for Mgt port.
The best approach is create 2 different subnet for each of interface, so that iscsi can be VLAN tagged and can use as virtual interface.
BTW, are you sure the array got delivered without an additional ethernet/fc cards?

Re: Alletra mgmt ports
Positive. Just the base on-board NICs - that's it.
What's the best design for an Alletra with 2 on-board NICs but still wanting to separate mgmt and iSCSI traffic?

Re: Alletra mgmt ports
Thank you for confirmation.
Best option is to have two different subnets. If you need assistance in configuring it and some testing, please do create a support case referencing the serial number of array, will have an engineer to setup a zoom session.
