dHCI AF20 Management
Hello,
For the dHCI install wizard to complete successfully. Do we have to use the AF20 on-board 10GBASE-T ports for Nimble management or can an additional 10GbE SFP+ card be installed and used for management?
I ask this, as currently the network switches only have SFP+ ports available.
Thanks

Re: dHCI AF20 Management
Assuming you have an open slot in the controllers, you could add an additional set of network cards and use those ports. However:
- When first powered up, the array looks to the 1/10Gb RJ45 ports for management
NOTE: The AF20 on-board Base-T ports support 10Gb and 1Gb. - dHCI requires the iSCSI traffic to be 10Gb or faster
- dHCI requires the ESXi traffic to be 10Gb or faster
- Once initialized, before running the dHCI stack setup, you can use the CLI to change the Management network ports to a different set of ports.
My team has set up quite a few customers with the array management using the on-board Base-T ports at 1Gb.
"...use the AF20 on-board 1GBASE-T ports for Nimble management" <grin>
Note: While I am an HPE Employee, all of my comments (whether noted or not), are my own and are not any official representation of the company

Re: dHCI AF20 Management
An idea was to install an additiional 25GbE card for iSCSI and an additional 10GbE SFP+ card to use for Mgmt/Replication.
Though thinking about it, we should have 1Gb BASE-T connectivity somewhere for the iLOs of the servers so could keep mgmt on the on-board 1Gb ports and use the additional 10GbE SFP+ ports for replication.
Thanks
